5.0 - Pass the Zoo entrance.

5.5 - Turn left off Rock Creek trail onto an unused off-ramp, stay left, and this leads to unused and closed-to-cars Klingle Rd. Go up Klingle Rd. (BIG HILL), passing under Connecticut Ave.

6.5 - Klingle becomes Woodley. Turn right on 34th St.

7.0 - Turn right on Newark St. Observe some of the ritziest properties in the city.

7.5 - Turn right on Connecticut Ave.

8.0 - Turn left into Zoo, stop for pandas, and return to Rock Creek Trail at bottom.

9.0 - Turn right on Rock Creek Trail and head back.

14.0 - Arrive back at Iwo Jima for refreshments.
