Running the DMV Since 1961
What a Weekend!
It has been quite the start to the spring.
Last week, the annual RRCA Convention was held in Crystal City, and DC Road Runners was asked to lead the convention’s morning group run out and back to Gravelly Point. It was a great time, and the sunrise was gorgeous. Just look at all of these runners:

We were honored to be asked to lead the run, and we were grateful for the opportunity to offer a formal convention presentation about fostering running club community in the years after the pandemic.
And then, shortly after the convention concluded, a whole bunch of us ran in the 2026 Cherry Blossom Ten Miler. In doing so, we finished second in the Mixed Gender category for the 2026 DMV Run Club Championships. It was a thrilling way to end an already excellent weekend.
Future Club Events
We are steadily building the calendar for the 2026 Bunion Derby Series. The remaining events should be added to the master club calendar within the week.
Given how well the club performed yesterday, consider participating in the One Hour Track Run, which is just over a month away.
If you are looking far into the future, as many of us are, you can also circle October 4 on your respective calendars. The National Capital 20 Miler and Janet Braunstein 5 Miler are scheduled for that day.
More soon about all of these events.
In the meantime, best of luck to everyone who is running in next week’s Boston Marathon.
Let’s keep the good times rolling, and let’s celebrate all of these accomplishments at our upcoming happy hour, which will be organized to support the Capital Area Food Bank.
I hope to see you there.
