Director for Race Operations—Jennifer A. Vu
Jennifer Vu currently serves as Director for Race Operations. She has been a club member since 2015, when she joined the marathon training program to prepare for the DC Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon.
Drawn in by the club’s 16 free races each year and the awards from the Bunion and Snowball series, she quickly became an active and dedicated participant, showing up consistently for the low-key race series and volunteering whenever possible.

Running Background
Extracurricular Activities
Outside of running, Jennifer works as a software engineer for the U.S. Senate. She is a certified National Registry EMT and Wilderness Medicine EMT (WEMT), and actively serves as a first responder with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. She also volunteers with Capital Caring Health, providing advanced home care and hospice support.
In addition, Jennifer has experience as a gymnastics coach and a ballerina, having performed as part of the Corps de Ballet. These roles cultivated a foundation of athleticism, discipline, and the ability to work in perfect synchronization with a team to achieve a collective vision.
Jennifer also enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, backpacking, and traveling. She is passionate about exploring national and state parks and takes every opportunity to visit and reflect in nature. Her personal philosophy is captured in her favorite quotes:
“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”
“Mindfulness”
“Divine Mercy”
“You Raise Me Up To More Than I Can Be.”
