Director for Contract Races—Raj Bhanot

Raj Bhanot has been a proud member of DC Road Runners Club for over 20 years, serving in roles including Vice President for Races, Director of IT, and a Race Director. Raj now leads the club’s contract races program.

Raj is an RRCA Certified Race Director and an RRCA Certified Coach. He also volunteers as a race photographer, capturing experiences for fellow runners.

Running Background

On the roads and trails, Raj is a Boston Marathon finisher who has logged 94 marathons and ultras completed. He is currently chasing the Century Club while working his way toward completing a marathon in all 50 states (as of 2026, he has checked 41 states off of the list).

Raj is an active member of Marathon Maniacs, the 50 States + DC Marathon Club, and multiple DMV-area running clubs.
