Run DMV Run
August 22 @ 7:00 am – 11:00 am

DC Road Runners is the club that has (metaphorically) run the DMV since 1961. On August 22, 2026, DCRR will literally run the DMV during our weekly Saturday long run, when we will run through each local jurisdiction: Virginia, the District, and Maryland. We hope to have a large group as we traverse the metro area.
The route is mapped on Strava, but we also have a cue sheet and GPS coordinates available for download.
The full route, start to finish, is 18 miles, and it is a formal component of our fall marathon training program. However, there will be ready access to the Metro once the route enters Northwest DC roughly eight miles in, and there will be various Metro stops in close proximity to the route as it winds through the city. If your goal is for your shoes to cross all three jurisdictions, you only need to plan for approximately 8 miles of running.
This run is free and is open to all participants—club members and nonmembers. We just ask everyone to come in good spirits, take lots of pictures, and tag DC Road Runners on social media.
Post-Run Hangout
It is customary for our Saturday long runs to conclude with post-run coffee and breakfast in Rosslyn, right down the hill from North Meade Street Park. All are welcome.
Volunteer Support
If you are not planning to run this route, and if you are a DC Road Runners member, please consider volunteering to support it. In particular, we need volunteers to supply mid- and post-run drinks. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the drinks and ice. Volunteering to bring drinks to this (or any) Saturday long run will count toward Bunion Derby credit, if you are participating in that series. Contact DCRR training if you are interested in volunteering.
