Volunteer
DC Road Runners is an all-volunteer organization. None of the club’s races, training programs, weekly runs, or other events would be possible without the assistance of volunteers. If you are a member of the club, please consider volunteering as you are able to do so. Your support helps to keep the club going.
How to Volunteer
Volunteer opportunities are announced and coordinated by the Volunteer Coordinator. Generally, upcoming volunteer opportunities are listed in the DCRR Membership Newsletter. However, the Volunteer Coordinator will frequently issue targeted calls for volunteers for specific events.
If you are managing a DCRR event and need volunteer assistance, or if you would like to advertise a volunteer opportunity, contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
Types of Opportunities
- providing mid- and post-run drinks for the Saturday Long Run (you will be reimbursed for your expenses)
- race support for DCRR race series events
- support for the club’s premium races, like the National Capital 20 Miler and Alexandria Turkey Trot
- service on the Board of Directors
- running as a pacer for the club’s training programs
Note: volunteer responsibilities are a requirement for award consideration for the Snowball and Bunion Derby race series.
