Welcome to the DC Road Runners Club volunteer page.

We are always looking for volunteers for race directors, training, mid- and post-run beverages, and many other positions.

 

Volunteers are always needed to ensure that our club races are successful.  There are always opportunities to volunteer before the race assisting with registration and course set up as well as after the race helping with course tear down and awards and clean up.

Upcoming Volunteer Needs

Thanks to everyone who has been volunteering! We need volunteers for several upcoming Club races. Please "pay it forward" by coming out and supporting our running community!

  • January 1: New Years Resolution 5K: many thanks to everyone who has volunteered. You rock!
  • January 5: Al Lewis 10 and 5 Miler at Hains Point. Race starts at 8. To volunteer sign up here. We are very short-handed for this race right now.
  • January 26: Belle Haven 8K at Belle Haven. Race starts at 8. To volunteer, sign up: here.
  • February 16: Valentine's 10K, details to follow.

 

 

Saturday Long Run

Constant Needs!

We are always looking for Saturday Long Run refreshment volunteers. If you plan to attend SLR for at least 2 consecutive weeks, and haven't volunteered in a while (or at all), please consider helping to support the group (and yourself)! This is a fairly easy job, all you have to do is bring gatorade, water, and cups to SLR on Saturday morning, and the club will reimburse the expenses (think of all the rewards points you can get!) Big Race Volunteer Opportunities

DC Road Runners supports our running community by staffing aid stations, packet pickups and other "Big Races" in the DC Metro area These include the Alexandria Turkey Trot, DC Rock'n'Roll Marathon/Half-Marathon, Credit Union Cherry Blossom, GW Parkway Classic Ten Miler, Marine Corps Marathon.

We may offer Bunion Derby or Snowball Series volunteer credit for supporting these races. See the volunteer opportunity's details for specifics.

We currently need volunteers for the Alexandria Turkey Trot on November 28th.

 

Race Timing and Directing

We are looking for club members interested in gaining experience in timing races, co-directing club races or becoming race directors. If interested, please contact Peter Feltman.

The DC Road Runners Club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America and is also affiliated with USA Track & Field. We provide a year-round schedule of running events that offer everyone a chance to participate regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability.
