This Sat, Feb 9th, we will be running an out and back on the Capital Crescent Trail. I put down 18 miles for those in Marathon training, but obviously feel free to do any distance since its an out and back. I won't be able to make it but have a sub to start things off.
Please thank Johnathon Pelish for our post-run drinks! As always we seek drink volunteers for the coming months. Its not a lot of work and DCRRC reimburses your expenses. Email slr@dcroadrunners.org if you can help out. In club news, the GW Birthday Marathon & Relay is coming up on Sunday, Feb. 17th. If you aren't running or cheering I'm sure they could still use volunteers.
As far as mileage options go:
- 12 miles total: run to mile marker 5.5 and return
- 14 miles total: run to mile marker 4.5 (River Road) and return
- 16 miles total: run out to mile marker 3.5, this is where it enters Bethesda, soon turns into tunnel.
- 18 miles total: run through tunnel, to mile marker 2.5 and return
I will be scheduling the rest of the Spring SLR routes soon, targeting the Rock-n-Roll USA Marathon and Half Marathon in D.C., and the Boston Marathon - with a long run 3 weeks out from each race. Give me a shout if there are any other Spring Marathons you would like me to work into the schedule!
