Paul Thurston was one of DCRRC's early members, and his son Bob (still a DCRRC member) claimed the national record for the fastest-ever marathon finish by a father and son.
This race honors Paul Thurston's memory by offering prizes for top family teams, e.g., mother/daughter (M/D) and husband/wife (H/W). Heavy rain and traffic kept the turnout small and delayed the race start by 15 minutes. * denotes runners who took a 15-minute early start.
Ben Danforth held off Karsten Brown by two seconds, and Karen Dickerson won the women's race.
