Registration and Fees:

• Online advance registration through midnight the day before the race:
  • $0 for club members
  • $10 for non-members
• Race Day Registration. Sign-up online between midnight and "the G-Word." You may be asked to show your confirmation email (either printed or on your phone) to obtain your bib:
  • $5 for club members
  • $15 for non-members

If you signed up for the race and can no longer run please email races@dcroadrunners.org to inform us of your cancelation.  There will be no refund for canceling but you will open up a spot for a fellow runner.

Refund Policy:  We have a strict no refund, no transfer and no deferral policy on all of our low key races.  However, in the event we are forced to cancel this race due to weather or other unforeseen events we will make every attempt to reschedule this race on another date.  In this event, your registration would automatically carry over to the new date.  If you are unable to run this new date or we are unable to find a new date for the race we will grant you free entry into another of our low key races in which room is available.

Volunteers: We always need additional help in putting on these races. Please sign up here, if you (or a family member who is accompanying you to the race) can assist.

Timing:  This race is timed using the Chronotrack timing system.

Awards:   Prizes will be given out to the top three overall men and women.  Also, first place Masters male and female.

Stroller and Dog Policy:  This race is held on a fairly narrow public trail.  In addition to the many race participants this trail also remains open to the public for use by walkers, runners and bicyclers.  As such, dogs and strollers are prohibited on this particular course.

Headphone Policy:  The use of headphones is strongly discouraged at all DCRR Club races.

Course Description: The Fort Hunt 10K course consists of 5+ laps around the paved perimeter road of Fort Hunt Park. There are no big hills on the course, but each lap does have some little ups and downs. The redundant nature of the course has some benefits: SIX water stops (actually one water stop that is passed six times), and the opportunity for spectators to stay in one place and cheer for their favorite competitors as they pass by multiple times!

NPS Race Rules:  These races take place in the National Park Service's jurisdiction.  Please familiarize yourself and comply with our NPS Race Rules.

Directions: Fort Hunt Park is located approximately 6 miles south of Old Town Alexandria in Virginia along the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
From downtown Washington, DC: take 14th Street Bridge south towards Virginia. Take exit for Mount Vernon/National Airport; this puts you on the George Washington Memorial Parkway southbound; continue past National Airport, through Old Town Alexandria (for two miles, the Parkway becomes Washington Street through Old Town; when, you reach the city limits, you are back on the Parkway); Fort Hunt Park is 6 miles south of Old Town Alexandria; exit to the right at the sign marked "Fort Hunt Road/Fort Hunt Park." • Q: Will the course be marked? A: No, but each loop is just under 1.25 miles.
• Q: Will the results be posted online? A: Yes, results will be posted on our website no later than the next day...but usually as the race is finishing.
