August 11, 2024 - Meet of Miles and Family Night at the Track

The DC Road Runners Club and the Potomac Valley Track Club are hosting the Meet of Miles/Family Night at the Track on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Yorktown Washington-Liberty High School in Arlington, Va.

The meet will include 400 meter and 800 meter fun runs for kids, multiple heats of the mile, and a 3000m run.

• 4:30 p.m. start check-in

• 5 p.m. 4 and under 400m (with parents running alongside if desired)

• 5:15 p.m. 8 and under 800m

• 5:25 p.m. and rolling schedule after that:

  • race walk mile

  • 14 and under mile (boys and girls)*

  • high school mile (15-18 yr olds)*

  • open mile (19-39 yr olds)*

  • masters mile (40 and over)*

  • 3000 (one heat)

* Heats may be combined depending on the number of entries

The entry fee is $8 through Aug. 4, and $10 thereafter. Children 8 and under run for free. Runners in the mile heats can also run the 3k at no additional charge.

All participants in the kids runs get ribbons. The male and female winners of each heat of the mile and 3000m will receive gift cards from Starbucks.

The event will be timed by the Chronotrack system, and the results be posted on the DCRRC and PVTC websites.

Water, Gatorade, and snacks will be available.
