In this event, your registration would automatically carry over to the new date. If you are unable to run this new date or we are unable to find a new date for the race we will grant you free entry into another of our low key races in which room is available. Race-day Information: The race will start promptly at 6:45 PM as we must be out of the park by 8:00 PM. A note on the scheduling: in response to runners' comments that Burke Lake Park is "too hard" to reach in commuter traffic, in 2011 we investigated moving the race to Sunday morning. We learned that weekend scheduling would require runners to pay the $10 park entrance fee, so we kept it on Tuesday night. Thank you for understanding. Volunteers: We always need additional help in putting on these races. Please sign up here, if you (or a family member who is accompanying you to the race) can assist. Location address: 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA Directions: From the Beltway – Take the Braddock Road West exit and travel approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Burke Lake Road (at Kings Park Shopping Center). Follow Burke Lake Road for 5 miles. Turn left onto Ox Road (Route 123 South). The golf course entrance is the first left off Ox Road (Route 123). The park entrance is the second left off Ox Road (Route 123). Parking: Parking is free – there is NO charge for entrance to the park on weekdays. Timing: This race is timed using the Chronotrack timing system. Post Race Celebration: After the race stick around and celebrate a great run with your fellow runners, watch the awards announcements and partake in refreshments. Along the same vein as awards we do not guarantee food. But again we love to provide it after our races. Our races will generally have food and drinks at the post race celebration. We will have Gatorade and/or water at all functions and occasionally coffee or hot chocolate as well. Food can include bagels, cookies, fruit and even sometimes cake. So stick around and enjoy the celebration. Stroller and Dog Policy: This race is held on a fairly narrow public trail. In addition to the many race participants this trail also remains open to the public for use by walkers, runners and bicyclers. As such, dogs and strollers are prohibited on this particular course. Headphone Policy: The use of headphones is strongly discouraged at all DCRR club races.
